30 DAY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT MEME;;

DAY SEVEN (x)

Where does your character live? Why did they choose it, and how did they acquire it? How do they handle intruders (graciously? violently?)? Describe the space.   I am so in love with modern Lyanna’s house that I made not one but four icons to show it off, but I should probably talk about her default verse living space first??? Anywhere Lyanna lives, regardless of verse, she has an eclectic collection of art and nature decorating the space. She prefers a more stark color scheme (see what I did there), and tends to decorate in whites, greys, and earth tones. There are always lots of books, and it usually smells of flowers (she keeps them everywhere) and coffee.

          In Sunspear, her rooms were given to her by Doran, so the furnishings are in keeping with the rest of his living spaces. What makes her room hers are the many piles of books (and new, interesting ways she thinks of to store them), the sketches of flora and fauna and maps (some historical, others accurate) of far off places, and the assorted accouterments of someone who travels often and collects artifacts of culture along the way. Really just personal touches accumulated over 15 or so years.

          In her modern verse, Lyanna lives with Jon in a small house in a small town. She started fifteen years ago in an apartment that was provided to her (either by the Targaryens or the Martells), and since then saved up enough for a down payment on a mortgage. Her house is a point of pride for her, since she bought it at such a young age, and because she’s put a lot of work into it to make it a home. It’s nothing big or fancy, and there’s always problems with the plumbing (especially in the winter), but it has a strong roof and it keeps them warm.

          As far as intruders go, it would be very difficult for someone to get to Lyanna’s rooms in Sunspear without being noticed, but if an enemy were to end up there, Lyanna would assume they were an assassin and 100% respond accordingly. In her modern verse, it would be much more likely to be a burglar of some sort, but I imagine they would still be looking down the business end of an old hunting rifle. Even if she isn’t worried about being assassinated in her modern verse, she now has a son to protect, and Lyanna would protect Jon with her life in any verse. Particularly as a woman living on her own for most of her life, Lyanna is very security conscious (so, really she would respond similarly in any verse).
