My final graduate school residency is from Thursday, June 15th – Friday, June 23rd. I will be driving across the state on the 14th and checking into a hotel and then after I graduate on the 23rd, I’ll be driving back on the 24th. It’s kind of a big deal bc it’s my last residency and I’m graduating and getting my master’s degree, so my activity may be spotty leading up to the day I leave and possibly for a couple of days after I get back. Friendly reminder that I’m on hiatus until after Wednesday the 15th. I’m around to plot or chat but all my writing is going to my current grad school packet. Thank you for everyone’s patience and consideration. <3333
Okay but you know what I really, really want?
Lya with CHILDREN. Not necessarily her own, but ones she might take care of, like her nieces and nephews or children of the Dornish court who might have taken a shine to her. Lya telling stories and playing hide and seek and tucking little ones into bed with a kiss on their forehead. Children screeching her name as they run down the halls, hiding behind her skirts, and reaching up to hold her hand. Lya getting to experience even just small moments of the motherhood she never got to have.
Lya with STARKS. ( Like, after convincing them who she is, after arguing about why she left, why she came back, why they should or shouldn’t hate her, or who should go to war when and over what. ) I want Lya braiding flowers in Sansa’s hair and discussing how to better fortify Winterfell. I want Arya showing Lya new sword tricks, the two of them waking up at dawn to go riding together. I want Lya making sure Jon and Robb have eaten and aren’t too cold, her watching them spar to make sure they’re ready to fight. I want her reading to Bran and telling him all about Tyrosh and Myr and her adventures traveling. I want Lya protecting what is left of her family with everything she has, with all her might, with her life.
Lya falling IN LOVE. She never really got to experience love like a normal person, and she’s so broken that she doesn’t believe love can ever end well or that she is deserving of such reverence. She’s so afraid of anyone knowing her and has been withholding herself from everyone for so long that she doesn’t know what it is to live a life with her real name, and it’s such an isolated existence. I want someone being patient with her, brave with her, strong with her. Someone to tell her that nothing that happened was her fault, and that she is good and kind and courageous. Someone who calls her by her real name so that she can marvel at its sound in a lover’s mouth.
